A Season of Gratitude: Thank You, Thoreau Community!
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday (and our beloved Turkey Trot tradition!), we’re feeling grateful for this incredible community and the spirit of generosity that makes it so special. This year, as we work together to bring Thoreau’s Backyard to life, we’ve seen firsthand how powerful our collective efforts can be.
Gratitude for Our Student Leaders
We want to extend a special thank you to the wonderful students on the Playground Committee. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and thoughtful input have been invaluable as they’ve worked hard to gather ideas, deliberate on specific elements of the playground, and help shape the vision for Thoreau’s Backyard. Thank you for being such dedicated and passionate advocates for this project!
To Our Early Supporters
A heartfelt thank you to the individuals and families who have already stepped up to help us turn this vision of a new playground into reality. Your belief in this project inspires us and reminds us of what’s possible when we come together for something greater than ourselves.
Because of your generosity, we’ve already raised over $249,250 toward our $610,000 goal (as of November 25, 2024). This is an incredible start— and we are optimistic that the dedication of our Thoreau community will help us reach our goal in the next six months. We’re proud to honor and celebrate those who have made early contributions. Your support not only brings us closer to our goal but also inspires others to join this journey.
Gratitude for What’s Ahead
We’re thankful for the progress we’ve made and for the exciting road ahead. The playground we’re building together will become a cherished space—a place for children to laugh, explore, and create memories. It will be a reminder of the strength and generosity of our community for decades to come.
This Thanksgiving, we invite you to reflect on what this project means to all of us—parents, neighbors, and friends. Whether through a gift, spreading the word, or volunteering, every contribution brings us one step closer to making Thoreau’s Backyard a reality.
From all of us on the Thoreau Playground Committee, we wish you a joyful Thanksgiving filled with love, gratitude, and hope for the future
With warmest thanks,
The Thoreau Playground Committee
